Can't say too much just yet, but had an amazing experience on my first SAG set in June and I am now SAG eligible!
I spent close to ten months working on my thesis role, which was playing Adam/Samantha Turner in Anna Ziegler's Boy. It tells a similar story to the real-life case of David Reimer, who in the 1960s was mutilated from a routine circumcision. Not knowing much at the time, his parents were convinced by a doctor to raise him as a female, insisting he could have a fuller life if he never knew who he was meant to be. The play goes back in forth in time: we see Samantha struggling to accept the identity forced upon her unknowingly and we see Adam, a 23 year old trying to reclaim his original gender. I learned so much from this process and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to share this heart-wrenching story.
I had the pleasure of playing Bert Jefferson in Kaufman & Hart's The Man Who Came to Dinner at the Barn Theatre in Stuart, FL! Really enjoyed working with this cast!
I wrote, directed & produced a one act play called Thoughts, which explores the differing internal conversations we have with ourselves and the external conversations we put on for others. This was such an exhausting and rewarding process to be a part of!
I left the US for 6 months to study Playwriting, Solo Performance & London Theatre at The University of Roehampton in southwest London. I saw an incredible 26 theatre performances when I was there, and wrote my very own solo performance show entitled The Pain of Creativity, which accounts real moments in playwright Eugene O'Neil's life that led him to becoming a playwright. I also had the pleasure of being cast in a LGBTQ+ adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
